Usted and ustedes commands: hable, hablen

Formal commands borrow the present subjunctive: hable (usted), hablen (ustedes); coma/coman; venga/vengan. Same forms whether affirmative or negative.

conjugationA2v1.0.0

Erklärung

Usted and ustedes commands are the third-person subjunctive forms: pase, siéntese, tenga, no se preocupe. Since they come from the subjunctive, all yo-form irregularities show up: venga (vengo), salga (salgo), conozca (conozco).

In Latin America, ustedes is the only plural, so 'you all' commands are always the -n forms: pasen, siéntense — whether the group is formal or your closest friends. In Spain, informal plural uses vosotros (pasad) instead.

Affirmative attaches pronouns (siéntese, dígame); negative puts them before (no se siente, no me diga).
